The building was remembered for its particular location on the S curve on Lake Shore Drive (the Outer Drive). Its Buckminster Fuller inspired geodesic glass dome covering the swimming pool served in movie sets over the years. In 1973 the building turned condominium. In 2006, the condominium board commissioned a complete “facelift” of the swimming pool and space that would breathe new life into the older building. The space was stripped entirely to structure and redone. The main design goal has been in creating a new image and enhanced use of the pool, as well as a visual draw in an area where newer buildings are the competition for property values.
